These Terms govern your use of TaoChi at taochi.net and the related services provided by TAOCHI TECHNOLOGY LIMITED (道吉科技有限公司), a Hong Kong company (“TaoChi”, “we”, “us”). Please read them before creating a chart, registering, or buying a service.
1. What the service provides
TaoChi provides automated Zi Wei Dou Shu and BaZi birth charts, AI-assisted written interpretations, daily themes, relationship comparisons, and related account and community features. Availability depends on the features and access level shown on the relevant page. The service is not a live consultation with a professional adviser.
The content is for entertainment and personal reflection. It is not a scientifically validated assessment, a prediction or guarantee of real-world events or outcomes, or financial, investment, legal, medical, psychological, or other professional advice. Do not use it as a basis for significant decisions about health, money, work, legal matters, or relationships. Rankings and compatibility scores are comparisons within our model or sample, not measures of a person’s worth, ability, or probability of success.
AI-generated text can contain errors, inconsistencies, or unsuitable suggestions. Different inputs, time-conversion choices, model versions, and languages may produce different readings. Check factual information independently and consult a suitably qualified professional where needed.
2. Eligibility and agreement
The service is intended for adults aged 18 or over who can enter a binding agreement where they live. By choosing to generate a chart, continue with a service, or register after being shown the relevant notice, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not proceed.
If you enter another adult’s information, you must have their permission or another lawful authority, inform them how the service uses it, and provide the Privacy Policy before submitting it. This includes any transfer to AI providers described in that Policy. They may contact us directly about their information. Do not submit information about anyone under 18 or sensitive information that the service does not request. Using the service does not require you to agree to optional analytics or marketing.
3. Accounts and your information
Provide information you are entitled to use and keep account credentials and recovery codes secure. A nickname is sufficient where a name is optional. You are responsible for activity you authorise and must notify us if you suspect unauthorised access.
Some features can be used without an account. Anonymous report access depends on the originating browser/device and normally expires after seven days. Saving a report to an account changes how it is retained, as described in the Privacy Policy. We cannot promise recovery of anonymous access after browser data is cleared.
Please check birth details, time zone and any time-correction selection before generating a report. Incorrect or uncertain inputs can affect the result. Access limits and any limits on changing birth profiles are shown in the relevant feature or purchase description; contact support if a correction is needed. These limits do not remove your right to request correction of personal information.
4. Prices, payment and access
Online purchases are available when checkout is enabled. Before paying, please review the product, total price, currency, taxes or additional charges, access period and any renewal conditions shown at checkout. Creating an account or viewing prices does not incur a charge.
Paid access is currently sold as a one-time purchase for a fixed period, without automatic renewal. Your purchase confirmation and account record identify the access purchased. Redemption codes are subject to their stated eligibility and expiry conditions. Planned features are included only if expressly stated in the purchase description.
Payment providers process payment details under their own notices. We receive order and payment-status information, not your full card number or card security code. Keep your order confirmation and contact us if access does not match your purchase.
5. Cancellation, refunds and consumer rights
Contact [email protected] or submit a support ticket for a failed delivery, duplicate charge, billing error, or content or service that does not conform to the purchase description. Provide your order reference and the issue; do not send full card details. We will assess the request and provide the remedy required by applicable law, which may include correction, replacement access, a price reduction, or a refund.
If you are a consumer in the EEA or UK and a statutory withdrawal right applies, you may withdraw within 14 days of the contract without giving a reason. Send a clear statement with your name, account or order reference, purchase date, and request to withdraw to [email protected] or through support. No particular wording is required. Where withdrawal requires a refund, we will return the amount due within the applicable statutory period, generally 14 days after notice, using the original payment method unless otherwise agreed without an added fee.
Starting a reading, accepting these Terms, or using a redemption code does not by itself waive a statutory withdrawal right. Any legally permitted loss of that right for immediate digital content or a fully performed service requires the separate express consent and acknowledgement required by local law. Until those conditions are met, the right remains available. Mandatory rights concerning defective or non-conforming digital content and services are unaffected.
Your mandatory consumer rights, including applicable protections in your country of habitual residence, take priority over any inconsistent provision in these Terms.
Unless the purchase page offers more favourable terms, a change of mind alone does not qualify for a refund outside applicable statutory withdrawal rights. A reading differing from your expectations or another reading does not, by itself, establish a defect. Your rights where the service is misdescribed, defective or not delivered as agreed remain unaffected.
6. Responsible use
Do not use the service to break the law, harass or discriminate against people, exploit minors, publish someone’s private information, impersonate another person, commit fraud, or infringe intellectual property rights. Do not use readings to make decisions about another person’s employment, insurance, credit, healthcare, or other significant opportunities.
Do not bypass access controls, misuse another account, overload the service, or scrape private data. Security research must not access other users’ information or disrupt availability; report suspected vulnerabilities privately to [email protected].
7. Your content and our materials
You retain rights in content you submit. You grant us only the rights reasonably needed to store, process, display, and deliver it as part of the service and to handle support, security, and legal obligations. Posting to a community feature makes that content visible to its audience; avoid including identifiable or sensitive information.
We may moderate or remove content that violates these Terms and will explain significant restrictions where practicable and required by law. You can challenge a moderation or account decision through support.
Our software, layout, branding, and original materials are protected by applicable intellectual property law. Subject to your purchased access, you may read, download where offered, and share your own report for personal, non-commercial use. Do not remove attribution or resell the service without permission. We do not guarantee that AI-generated text is unique or eligible for copyright protection.
The permission for your submitted content is limited to those purposes; it is not an assignment of ownership or permission to use private reports or journals in advertising. Removing content or closing an account ends its ordinary use in the service, subject to the limited retention explained in the Privacy Policy. Copies already shared by you or other people may remain outside our control. Report unlawful or infringing community content through the report control or support, identifying the content and the reason for your concern.
8. Privacy and communications
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information and how to exercise your rights. Optional website analytics and promotional emails are subject to separate choices. You can decline them without losing access to the core service.
We may send necessary account, security, purchase, and service messages. You can unsubscribe from promotional messages without opting out of necessary service communications.
9. Availability, changes and account closure
We take reasonable care in providing the service but do not promise uninterrupted access or error-free output. Maintenance, third-party outages, security incidents, and changes to technology can affect availability. We will provide notice of material changes or interruptions where reasonably practicable.
We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to address a material breach, fraud, a security risk, or a legal obligation. Except where immediate action is necessary, we will give notice and an opportunity to address the issue. Contact support if you believe a restriction is mistaken.
You may stop using the service at any time and request account closure through support or [email protected]. Ending access does not remove accrued refund or statutory rights. If we discontinue a paid service during an unexpired access period, we will provide an appropriate remedy, including any refund required by law.
We may update features for security, legal compliance, compatibility or service improvements. If a change materially reduces a paid feature during your purchased access period, we will give reasonable advance notice where practicable and explain your options, including termination and refunds required by your contract or applicable law.
10. Responsibility and limits
To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was made, or for losses caused by your misuse of the service. Content disclaimers explain the nature of the product; they do not remove our responsibility to deliver the service described with the care required by law.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or death or personal injury caused by negligence where applicable. Mandatory consumer guarantees and privacy remedies remain available.
11. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by Hong Kong law. This choice does not deprive a consumer of mandatory protections under the law of their habitual residence that apply to the contract.
Please contact us first so we can try to resolve a concern. Hong Kong courts have non-exclusive jurisdiction, subject to your right to bring proceedings in any court available to you under mandatory law. There is no compulsory arbitration requirement and no waiver of statutory collective redress rights.
12. Updates and interpretation
The version date appears above. Material changes will be notified through the website or an appropriate account contact before they take effect where required. Changes do not retroactively remove rights under an existing purchase. Where a new agreement or consent is legally required, we will request it.
If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue only to the extent permitted by law. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. The English version governs any inconsistency with the Chinese translation, subject to mandatory local law.
You may save or print this version for your records. Updated terms apply from their stated effective date; continued use is not a substitute for fresh agreement or consent where the law requires it. A price or renewal change will not create an automatic recurring charge for an existing one-time purchase.
